Amazon talking to labels about subscription streaming service – report

Amazon is reportedly in talks with a number of record labels about launching a subscription service.

Talks for the on-demand service are informal according to The Verge sources.

The online retail giant already has much of the infrastructure needed to launch a Spotify rival, including cloud music storage and its Cloud Player, which allows customers to stream songs from Amazon’s servers.

Google and Apple are also said to be both looking to enter the streaming market with a platform for both YouTube and Google Play and a Pandora style web radio service from Apple.
